A Welton wedding

I recently had the pleasure of photographing Tom and Sarah’s delightful wedding in the village of Welton near Lincoln. The church there is beautiful with the most amazing ceiling, and is just a few steps from the couple’s home, which meant the bridal party didn’t have far to go.

The touching ceremony was witnessed by close family and friends, and was followed by some group shots outside. There was just time for confetti by the flowered archway before the most gorgeous vintage bus whisked the guests off to the reception. This was just one example of all the thought and care that Tom and Sarah had put into their day, and meant that no one had to think about driving, or finding locations or parking, but instead they had a jolly ride in the vintage Bedford coach. The reception was charming. Tea and cakes and prosecco greeted the guests on arrival at the beautifully decorated Village Hall. There was bunting galore and acoustic music from Tom’s bandmates, plus lots of precious photographs of loved ones and happy times, which prompted the odd tear. This was a lovely, happy, fun day with so much laughter and love. There were the traditional speeches, as well as a less traditional speech by the bride, games… even a pub quiz. I snuck away with the bride and groom for 20 minutes to get some portraits just before supper arrived in a fish and chip van. And the evening finished with dancing.

It is always an honour to be present and part of such a special day. Many congratulations to Tom and Sarah x
